The Administrative Support IV fulfills a variety of secretarial responsibilities for the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. Provides day-to-day administrative and secretarial support to all within the Department. General Reception duties include prioritization and responding to telephone and walk in inquiries. Duties also include faxing, typing, phoning for information and transcribing clinical and administrative reports and documents including minutes for the office staff meetings. This position will be expected to maintain lists (update names, moderate postings) as well as the department website. This includes creating posters for events and announcements.

As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Some post-secondary education.

Post-secondary secretarial/administration certificate or equivalent. Thorough knowledge of computers and various software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Microsoft Outlook, Google Office Suite), excellent time management skills, ability to multi-task, strong teamwork skills, minimum typing speed of 50 wpm, excellent formatting, grammar, syntax and proof-reading skills, excellent customer service skills and personal initiative are required for this position. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite would be an asset, however training can be provided. An interest in desktop publishing website maintenance is essential. An ability to work independently with minimal direction is essential.

Interest and general knowledge of the medical/surgical setting would be considered an asset.
