Description
The Glenrose Dental Clinic, at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital, invites applicants for a Part-Time Administrative Support IV. As an Admin IV, you will often be the first point of contact and are required to book appointments for our Dental providers, Hygienist and UofA Dental Students. Your role in providing clinical secretarial support is important in ensuring efficient and effective operation of the respective Specialty Clinic. Tasks may include prioritizing and coordinating daily schedules, reviewing requests, scheduling clinical appointments. The Admin IV provides clinical secretarial support exercising decision-making with minimal supervision and direction from medical staff. A variability of each medical staff’s activities which will require a wide range of skills from the dental secretary to support them. Key behaviors and skills required are: Scheduling, Cash Handling, Submitting claims to insurance companies, reconciling insurance payment via EFTs. Multitasking, time management, organization, critical thinking, initiative and problem-solving skills. Professionalism will be important when representing the AHS Providers or department to internal and external stakeholders. Lastly, the successful Admin IV will work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities. Working within a team environment, the Admin IV must understand the purpose and goals of the team and have the ability to bring forward ideas to assist the team. Also have strong communication skills and use of the English language with seniors and patients with disabilities.
As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Some post-secondary education.
Minimum 3 years Dental Administration experience that includes Gold Dental and Sidexis Software or alternate dental software. Knowledge of medical terminology is required. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an administrative role within a healthcare environment working with providers. Knowledge and operation of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel reports. Minimum 1 year of Connect Care and Net Care experience. Knowledge of cash handling, A/R and A/P, month end reporting. Submitting Insurance claims and set-up and maintaining online insurance accounts.
Previous experience working as a Dental office assistant. Clinical scheduling is an asset. Ability to manage patient records with confidentiality and accuracy with an ability to identify discrepancies. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to critically think with demonstrated ability in problem solving complex issues. Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with high volume of calls.
