Edmonton Zone Medical Affairs (EZMA) has a broad responsibility in supporting and managing AHS Medical Leader and Medical Staff workforce including recruitment, development, remuneration, and other organizational projects and special arrangements. The Medical Leadership & Innovations team is part of the larger EZMA department and comprised of two pillars (Medical Leadership and Innovation). This opportunity will support the complex, highly sensitive, and confidential Medical Leadership (ML) pillar reporting to the Manager, Medical Leadership & Innovation, and under the general direction of the Senior Consultant & Team Lead, Medical Leadership.

The Medical Leadership pillar is specifically accountable for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on various ongoing initiatives and projects, special arrangements, process improvement, as it relates to Medical Leadership in the Edmonton Zone. The portfolio manages over 250 Medical Leadership contracts with a variety of payment arrangements in addition to special projects and initiatives. The Coordinator will: Engage and collaborate with Medical Staff/contracted service providers, medical leaders, internal stakeholders (i.e. zone and provincial MA teams, clinical operations, Finance, Legal), and external stakeholders (i.e. Alberta Medical Association, Alberta Health, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta). Demonstrate expertise in problem solving, critical thinking, and working under tight timelines. Understand and apply AHS Finance, Human Resources, and AHS bylaws, policies and procedures. Apply strategic thinking: contract risk assessment, analysis of program and project issues and related development of options, strategies, communication and implementation plans. Demonstrate proficiency at managing programs and projects by defining objectives, costs, scope, required resources, dependencies, timelines, and outcomes. Utilize timely and effective written and verbal communication of all portfolio areas including preparation of reports, briefing notes, correspondence, and presentations. Exercise independent decision making in regard to emergent project issues. Other duties as assigned.

The candidate will have: An undergraduate degree in Health Services Administration, Business, Economics, Arts/Sciences, Nursing, or other equivalent preparation. Minimum of two years of project or program management and the ability to demonstrate translating this into action, data analysis, policy advisor, or other similar experience. Superior skills in communication, analysis, critical and creative thinking, implementation and facilitation. ministration, & change management, data analysis, research, or other similar experience.

The candidate will have highly developed skills in communication, critical thinking, demonstrated competence in managing multiple projects and the ability to conceptualize, self-manage, prioritize, and work in a fluid environment where many factors are ambiguous; an ability to communicate complex and sometimes difficult messages clearly in written and verbal mediums; a high capacity for self-direction; the knowledge and drive to not only manage projects, but also complete the tasks; experience working in a health care environment, and exceptional emotional intelligence.
