Job Summary

The Team
The Financial Support Services team is a well-established and growing unit, providing a supportive and engaging work environment. With six teams across the province, the team works closely together, solving problems and finding solutions. In this fast-paced office, you'll collaborate with Financial Services clerks and other Corporate Operations staff to process payments that directly support BC MCFD youth, young adults, and families. The team values leadership development, connection, and creating a positive, inclusive atmosphere where everyone is supported and encouraged to grow.

The Role
As a Financial Services Clerk, you will play a key role in delivering essential financial services to client offices and procurement teams. This position requires planning and organizing your workload to meet priority timelines while adhering to policies and guidelines. You'll be part of a fast-paced, dynamic environment that directly supports BC MCFD youth, young adults, and families. This role offers meaningful work with opportunities for career advancement, leadership development, and the chance to make a significant impact on the lives of those you serve.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Completion of secondary school (Grade 12) or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years clerical/administrative support experience.
  • One (1) year of experience in an Accounting Operations environment including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and other core accounting functions.
  • Experience using computerized systems and software such as internet-based applications and financial applications.
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word and Outlook. (Intermediate meaning able to use advanced functions and features of MS Office such as Mail Merge, use templates for memos, and Excel functions.
  • A combination of experience, education and/or training may be considered.


Preferences may be given to applicants who have:

  • Two (2) or more years of accounts payable experience.
  • One (1) or more years of analytical reporting or reconciliation experience.
  • One (1) or more years of experience working in CAS Oracle.
  • Completed a post-secondary course in accounting or a related financial services course.


Proviso:

  • Ability to travel within province and service area and holder of a valid Class 5 driver’s license.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 1 day at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
