$91,295.85 - $104,132.83 annually which includes a 9.9% Temporary Market Adjustment*, plus $54.75 bi-weekly Isolation allowance for Fort Nelson; $37.64 bi-weekly isolation allowance for Smithers.

Job Summary


The Team
The Spatial Infrastructure team within Application Enablement Services is a small but highly skilled unit of two-a Senior Technical Analyst and a Technical Analyst. Together, we manage the acquisition, configuration, integration, and maintenance of the geospatial infrastructure that supports the Natural Resource Ministries. Our team plays a vital role in developing policies, procedures, and security standards while providing guidance to ministry staff, clients, and vendors. As key contributors to the province's geospatial community, we ensure that geospatial systems and services are reliable, secure, and seamlessly integrated.

The Role
As a Senior Technical Analyst - Spatial Infrastructure, you’ll guide technical teams, set standards, and ensure that systems are robust, scalable, and secure. You'll lead the architectural design and technical strategy for NRIDS geospatial systems, driving the modernization and integration of spatial environments across multiple platforms. Your expertise will support the organization’s strategic goals, manage infrastructure product lifecycles, and maintain change control procedures for smooth, stable technology upgrades. With your leadership, the geospatial infrastructure will continue to thrive, ensuring a secure and reliable environment.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Degree, diploma or certification in computer science, geography or a related field and 3 years of related experience.
  • Recent experience (in the last 5 years) with management and administration of geospatial software (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, QGIS, FME, GeoServer, etc.)
  • Recent experience (in the last 5 years) managing projects, developing action plans, and leading project teams in technical projects.
  • Recent experience (in the last 5 years) in assessing customer requirements, developing and implementing appropriate technical solutions.
  • Experience supervising and/or mentoring staff


Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following:

  • Experience with managing and the administration of in a large application hosting environment.
  • Experience with enterprise relational database systems & tools (e.g. Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
  • Experience using PowerShell, Python and SQL.
  • Experience using JIRA, Github, Confluence and/or BitBucket tools.
