Your Opportunity

Our Corporate Environmental, Social, & Governance (ESG) team is looking for an Analyst, Corporate Environmental Social Governance to join our team. The successful candidate will be able to work remotely and from a BDO office anywhere in Canada. The incumbent will have the following responsibilities:

  • Support sustainability reporting team by collecting, analyzing, and reporting environmental data for annual sustainability disclosures. This includes various sustainability-related projects (examples but not limited to: assisting in the measurement and management of environmental sustainability targets and metrics, gathering other information for segments of sustainability report, coordination with internal stakeholders for firm-wide events, updating content on my BDO and bdo.ca pages, etc.)
  • Perform data collection and analysis, partake in stakeholder interviews and discovery sessions, among other value-added tasks to support the development of creative solutions.
  • Monitor and analyze emerging sustainability regulations and their implications for environmental initiatives in partnership with other stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain a strong relationship with clients and colleagues, delivering high-quality, professional, and responsive service. Contribute to internal programs designed to achieve sustainability targets and engage employees in sustainability-related activities.
  • Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and team members regarding project progress & associated activities.
  • Occasionally support the ESG go-to-market team on various client-facing and business development initiatives (drafting requests for proposal responses, materiality assessment, competitor research, reporting, pitch development, thought leadership, etc.)

Your experience and education

  • Experience in the sustainability field minimum 2 years
  • Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with ESG frameworks (e.g., GRI, TCFD) and carbon accounting.
  • Project management experience and/or designation will be an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • You have excellent attention to detail and ability to perform analytical work accurately.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • You have a strong aptitude for Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint
  • You have the ability to prioritize competing priorities with varying deadlines
  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced deals environment
