Your Opportunity

BDO Canada is looking for an HR Product Manager, Workday to join our team in helping to shape our HR technology roadmap and ensure alignment with business objectives. While playing a pivotal role in driving the strategy, development, and enhancement of our organization's Human Resources (HR) systems and processes using the Workday platform, you will own the following responsibilities:

Product Strategy and Roadmap:

  • Support defining the long-term vision and strategic direction for the organization's HR systems powered by Workday as informed by our business strategy, as well as our talent roadmap and priorities.
  • Identify opportunities for system enhancements, new features, and integrations to improve HR processes and align with industry trends; own and lead the HR Workday release management process for all HR products.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap that prioritizes initiatives based on business impact and feasibility.
  • Collaborate with HR stakeholders, business leaders, and end-users to gather and document requirements for system enhancements and new functionalities.
  • Serves as Workday HR product expert for the combined talent team, researching current capabilities and advising talent teams on how Workday can enable their programs.
  • Translate business needs into clear and actionable system requirements, ensuring alignment between technology capabilities and talent management and development objectives.

Project Management:

  • Lead the end-to-end project management lifecycle for HR system initiatives, including planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as IT, HR, and Finance, to ensure smooth project coordination and effective communication.
  • Leverage your deep knowledge of Workday's capabilities to configure and customize the platform to deliver specific talent outcomes.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure proper integration of Workday with other systems and tools across the firm.

Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:

  • Plan for and conduct rigorous testing of new features, enhancements, and configurations to ensure they meet functional requirements and perform reliably.
  • Address and resolve any issues identified during testing or post-deployment.
  • Monitor AssistMe tickets, user and stakeholder feedback, and other sources of information and identify, propose, and execute on opportunities for systematic process and product improvement.
  • Prepare a measurement strategy for the Workday HR suite of products, analyze data, deliver periodic insights and supporting action plans to continue improving the overall Talent platform.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with HR stakeholders and users to understand their pain points, gather feedback, and continuously improve the HR technology ecosystem.
  • Communicate product updates, changes, and upcoming enhancements to the relevant audiences.
  • Actively collaborate with and contribute to the Workday HR and technology community across BDO member firms.
  • Be a voice of the firm for the Workday Clients Community, collaborate with other organizations and Workday team to find solutions to firm’s needs.

Training and Support:

  • Develop and deliver training materials and sessions for end-users to ensure successful adoption of new features and functionalities.
  • Provide ongoing support to troubleshoot issues, answer inquiries, and facilitate a seamless user experience.
  • Provide back-up Workday module administration, if needed.
  • Assist in attracting, retaining, and developing top talent to build a best-in-class Workday Support Team.

Your experience and education

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Human Resources, a related field, or an equivalent. While having your CHRP designation is preferred
  • You have proven experience as a Product Manager or similar role, with a focus on HR technology and the Workday platform.
  • You have experience and a solid understanding of HR operations, employee data management and HR business processes.
  • You have in-depth knowledge of HR Workday modules, configurations, business processes, and integration capabilities.
  • You have extensive knowledge of application security, data management & control.
  • You have strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • You have a strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions.
  • If you have a Certification in Workday HCM and/or Workday Pro Certifications in HR modules, it will be considered a strong asset
