The OpportunityThe AVP Analytics, Sales Intelligence & Performance is an outstanding and ambitious role that contributes to the success of the Business and Personal Banking portfolios in Canada! The successful candidate will drive actionable sales intelligence and lead generation, aiming to grow and optimize business and personal banking portfolios. This position supports channel partners and helps internal partners make informed decisions through the development of sales insights, coaching tools, reports, and dashboards. This facilitates earnings growth, new client acquisition, and deepening client relationships and referrals.
Job ResponsibilitiesSales Performance & ManagementSupport and lead the scorecards and variable compensation reporting for the banking region sales force.
Actively lead, support, and foster strategic sales intelligence and management for Business and Personal Banking portfolios across Canada by managing inquiries and monitoring client performance.
Pursue analysis for net new sales opportunities and work inside the current client base on cross-sell expansion opportunities.
Deliver tools, leader dashboards, sales pipeline, and business referral insights across various business divisions and segments, ensuring all front-line employees understand and can monitor performance to targets.
Take charge in developing requirements, implementing changes, and driving ongoing improvements, which includes formulating a multi-year data roadmap in partnership with Technology and other team members.
Build requirements for migration of data to central sources and partner with Technology to ensure intent is gathered and all information is tested and validated to expectation.
Connect reporting with new data environments as new data assets are developed, discuss changes with collaborators, and ensure a smooth transition to new sources.
Understand gaps in reporting needs by consistently collaborating with team members and effectively prioritizing based on the most urgent needs and available resources.
Be responsible for driving the ongoing evolution of the Client and Product reporting suite and contribute to the improvements of the data assets that drive this evolution.
Develop innovative ways to promote new insights and cultivate creative thinking in an environment that supports continuous improvement and process efficiencies.
Collaborate and align interests with all key collaborators across the broader analytics team, finance, operations, product, sales efficiency, digital, marketing, and technology.
Champion a people-focused culture and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
Build a high-performance, results-focused team and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates employees by encouraging an inclusive work environment.
Coordinate the team's daily functions to ensure timely responses to business inquiries, resolution of issues, and compliance.
Degree or equivalent experience in Economics, Business, Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, or Statistics.
Master’s degree in Analytics or MBA preferred.
Ten (10) years proven experience in analytics, finance, sales data management with demonstrated experience in statistical analysis and modeling, big data environments, and relational database structures.
Solid understanding of SAS, SQL, Python, PowerBI, Tableau, and a very good understanding of data models.
Proven expertise in simplifying complex data/information and effectively conveying data-driven insights to senior leadership.
Banking and/or Financial Services experience is a requirement.
Five (5) or more years of experience leading large teams and demonstrated experience building high-performing teams.
Proven ability to successfully manage and lead multiple complex programs and processes across various collaborators and departments.
Ability to understand, explain and present sophisticated technical and business data to various audiences at all levels (including executives).
Excellent persuasion and negotiating skills to build constructive, supported solutions often in the absence of direct decision authority.
Detailed understanding of banking products and concepts with a heavy commercial approach.
Experience driving new sales acquisition and channel strategies using data analysis.
Shown ability to efficiently build, engage, and lead teams, with a strong mentorship approach.
Solid experience operating in ambiguous settings and operating environments.
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with a solid understanding of P/L levers.
High credibility with senior management teams, channel line management as well as various business divisions and other functional areas across the bank.
