Technical Architect API

Location: Toronto, Canada

• Serve as a Banking Domain Technology Architect, providing leadership in the design and implementation of scalable API architectures.

• Collaborate with business and technology teams to gather requirements and document both business and technical needs.

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable API architectures.

• Define API standards, best practices, and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.

• Evaluate and recommend improvements for existing systems to enhance performance and scalability.

• Create and maintain detailed API documentation and specifications.

• Troubleshoot and resolve API-related issues promptly.

• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in API design.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, ensuring high standards of execution.

• Proven experience as a Banking Domain Technology API Architect or in a similar role within the banking/financial sector.

• Strong understanding of API design principles, best practices, and implementation.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.

• Experience with API management tools and platforms.

• In-depth knowledge of RESTful and GraphQL APIs.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with low-code platforms like Mercado (preferred), and experience in building APIs in a low-code environment, including API authentication.

• Experience with FIS IBS CodeConnect wrapper is a plus but not essential.

• Experience with integration tools and platforms such as MuleSoft.

• Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns and technologies such as SOA, microservices, and event-driven architecture.

• Experience with both statically typed languages (e.g., Java) and dynamically typed languages (e.g., JavaScript).
