Location: Toronto, Canada
Serve as a Banking Domain Technology Architect, providing leadership in the design and implementation of scalable API architectures.
Collaborate with business and technology teams to gather requirements and document both business and technical needs.
Design, implement, and maintain scalable API architectures.
Define API standards, best practices, and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.
Evaluate and recommend improvements for existing systems to enhance performance and scalability.
Create and maintain detailed API documentation and specifications.
Troubleshoot and resolve API-related issues promptly.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in API design.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, ensuring high standards of execution.
Proven experience as a Banking Domain Technology API Architect or in a similar role within the banking/financial sector.
Strong understanding of API design principles, best practices, and implementation.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
Experience with API management tools and platforms.
In-depth knowledge of RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with low-code platforms like Mercado (preferred), and experience in building APIs in a low-code environment, including API authentication.
Experience with FIS IBS CodeConnect wrapper is a plus but not essential.
Experience with integration tools and platforms such as MuleSoft.
Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns and technologies such as SOA, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
Experience with both statically typed languages (e.g., Java) and dynamically typed languages (e.g., JavaScript).
