About this opportunity:
Cenovus is seeking an Asset Integrity Technologist to join its organization to ensure regulatory compliance and maintain equipment integrity. This role involves planning and performing inspections, supporting daily operations, and administering the Pressure Equipment Integrity Management (PEIM) program. Key responsibilities include liaising with regulatory bodies and implementing the corrosion management plan to prevent equipment failures, reduce costs, and extend asset life. This position is vital for maintaining the reliability and safety of Cenovus' assets.

What you’ll do:
Responsible for the administration of the Pressure Equipment Integrity Management (PEIM) program within assigned plant(s)/unit(s), including liaising with the respective regulatory body as the Owner’s Inspector
Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of regulatory visual inspections and non-destructive examination of pressure equipment, process piping, and storage tanks
Responsible for assigning appropriate risk-based inspection plans/strategies, and to plan & schedule based on assigned strategies
Accountable for the planning and scheduling of pressure relief device servicing and inspection
Responsible for corrosion identification, monitoring, and risk mitigation programs within assigned plant(s)/unit(s)
Work collaboratively with Corrosion Engineering on the sustainment of the Corrosion Management Plan within assigned plant(s)/unit(s)
Accountable for the completion of pressure vessel, process piping, and pressure relief devices integrity assessments and recommendations in assigned plant(s)/unit(s)
In charge of the development of Repair & Alteration procedures and/or review of engineering work packages for material selection, weld procedure acceptance, specification and regulatory compliance, and application of asset integrity principles and Inspection Strategies
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
Legally authorized to work in Canada
10+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry with 3+ years experience in equipment inspection and corrosion mitigation
Solid understanding of jurisdictional acts and regulations (Saskatchewan) and standards such as ASME, API, and CSA
Red Seal Journeyman Certification (pipefitter, welder, NDE technologist, or similar), Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) with ASET, or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGS or APEGA
API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspector and API 570 Piping Inspector certifications
TSASK Pressure Equipment Inspector Class 1 certification, with financial support provided to participants willing to pursue National Board and TSASK Class 1 certification within 12 months of hiring if currently holding a Class 2
Additional credentials such as API 571 Damage Mechanism, API 580/581 Risk-Based Inspection, API 653 Storage Tank Inspector, ABSA ISI-PVPP ABSA In-Service Pressure Equipment Inspector, CSA W178.2 Level II/III Welding Inspector, CGSB Level 2 NDE certifications (UT/PT/MT), and NACE Corrosion Technologist Certifications are considered assets

As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.
For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
