About this opportunity:
Upstream Thermal Operations currently has an opportunity for a Plant Operator for Pikes Peak South or Dee Valley, Lloyd thermal locations.
The Facility Operation consists of water treating, high pressure steam generation, sour oil wells and oil treating facilities. Reporting to the Operations Coordinator, the Plant Operator is responsible for ensuring it is run in a safe, efficient manner while maintaining the necessary production requirements.

Work Environment:
This position is located in Lloydminster and requires the successful candidate to live in the area
This is a full-time employee position working a shift rotation (7 days/7 off 7 nights/7 off)
What you’ll do:
Operate the Facility in a safe and effective manner, while working collaboratively as part of the operating team
Maintain and troubleshoot all area-specific equipment to optimize performance to meet production targets as per Company guidelines
Perform condition monitoring including sampling and testing per area responsibilities. Complete area operations records. (e.g. volume balances, log sheets, work permits and required reports)
Support operations performed maintenance activities aligned to the site’s operating philosophy. Ensure on-site maintenance workers are informed of Company’s requirements, policies and practices
Provide assistance, coaching, on-the-job training and assessments to new employees as required
Align with all HS&E requirements in the performance of this Position's responsibilities
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
Legally authorized to work in Canada
Minimum 3rd Class Power Engineering certificate is required, however, preference will be given to those candidates who hold a 2nd class or have made significant advancement towards completing their 2nd class
5+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry preferably with a focus on SAGD operations
Experience in the operation of steam generating equipment, control panel, oil processing and/or well equipment and associated process and systems is an asset
Solid understanding of safety and regulatory standards and procedures
Mechanical proficiency / strong troubleshooting skills
We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.
As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.
For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
