On November 30, 2024, 9-8-8 was launched in Canada as a new national three-digit number for suicide prevention and emotional distress. In 2022, CAMH was announced as the lead for the coordination and administration of 9-8-8, and has acted in this capacity to lead and coordinate the implementation of 9-8-8 and manage the operations and post-launch activities. As of November 2023, this ground-breaking new service is available 24/7/365, in English and French, and accessible to everyone from coast to coast to coast. CAMH is working closely with the federal government and key partners from different groups and communities, provinces, territories and building on our work on Talk Suicide Canada, to deliver this high quality, evidence-based, equitable suicide prevention service to Canada.
Position Description
9-8-8 and CAMH Education are currently seeking a full-time, permanent Project Coordinator (LMS Administrator) to support the development and delivery of e-learning modules, user guides and other learning materials for 9-8-8 responders. This role will be responsible for supporting the development of e-learning courses, web-based resources, and other learning and support materials, as needed, with an emphasis on embedding best practices for evidence-based Education delivery and accessibility requirements.
Reporting to the Manager of Digital Innovation at CAMH Education and the Manager, Partnership and Strategy at 988 & Outreach Admin, this role will be responsible for the site administration of the 9-8-8 learning platform and will support the development of learning materials, guides, and other 9-8-8 educational resources in the 9-8-8 online portal. They will have strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a keen ability to collaborate with various departments and vendors to enhance the delivery of training and development programs. The ideal candidate will actively seek out and stay informed about emerging trends in learning platforms to create immersive and personalized learning experiences.
The LMS Administrator will collaborate with CAMH Education and 9-8-8 & Outreach Admin team as well as 9-8-8 subject matter experts, including healthcare professionals, clinical teams, lived experience experts, and other internal & external stakeholders.
The LMS Administrator will oversee the day-to-day operations of the LMS platform including user management, course setup, and system maintenance. They will work closely with IT/development teams and vendors to coordinate system upgrades, feature implementations, and integrations where needed. They will ensure the LMS platform adheres to relevant data protection & privacy regulations and are functioning with minimal downtime & efficient performance. They will ensure that the LMS platform and materials meet all accessibility standards. They will provide technical support to end-users by troubleshooting and answering inquiries. They will generate and analyze reports related to user activity, course completion, and system usage. The ideal candidate will provide insights and recommendations based on data to improve LMS effectiveness and user engagement.
The LMS Administrator will collaborate with UI/UX designers to ensure the LMS platform is intuitive, user-friendly, and accessible. They will work closely with content developers to configure assessment tools (e.g., quizzes, surveys) and create learning objects in multiple formats including HTML5, H5P and SCORM. They will upload and organize training content & resources and ensure that all content is accessible and aligned with organizational training goals. The ideal candidate will maintain documentation, develop training materials/user guides and deliver training sessions where needed.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Educational Technology or related field, and three years of experience as an LMS administrator. Advanced experience with learning management systems (i.e., Moodle) and content management systems (i.e., Sharepoint) is required. Advanced experience with front-end web development (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is required. Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (e.g., Illustrator and Photoshop) is required. Training and knowledge of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines is required. Experience with using Articulate products (i.e., Storyline and Rise) is a strong asset. The successful candidate possesses analytical and problem solving abilities, organizational and time management skills as well as sound judgment. They are enthusiastic, flexible and capable of working independently and in a team setting, and can demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills and can work well under pressure. They have the ability to work effectively in a wide range of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset.
