Research Analyst - Schizophrenia Research Division-camh

The Schizophrenia Division is seeking an enthusiastic individual for a full-time, contract (12 months) Research Analyst role to assist with clinical research projects intersecting between mental illness, obesity, and glucose dysmetabolism. As part of the team, the Research Analyst will assist the research team on a number of research related duties including: scheduling human subjects’ interviews, screening eligible research subjects, administering clinical rating scales and functional assessments, scoring and administering brief neurocognitive assessments. The projects will also include a significant metabolic/medical component including: conducting anthropometric measures, assistance with physiological tests of glucose metabolism, measurements of satiety/eating behaviours. Within these functions, you will also be required to assist in recruitment, preparing and maintaining subject records; data entry and database management, and preparing data for presentations and peer-reviewed research papers. You will also assist with scheduling and preparing for subject’s laboratory visits as well as other procedural visits depending on the given study such as MRI scans and will accompany subjects to these visits. Within these functions, you will also be required to assist with regulatory submissions, preparing budget and progress reports and power point presentations. Other administrative duties are also required. You will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in neuroscience, health science, social work, or physiology combined with one (1) year of relevant clinical or research experience with mental health and/or addiction issues. Previous experience in administration of neuropsychological assessments and clinical rating scales is a strong asset. Experience in the field of cognition, physiology, or endocrinology is preferred. Experience with data analysis in R and SPSS is required. Proficiency with word processing, PowerPoint, and database software packages along with Endnote reference manager is required. The ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and diverse stakeholders is essential. Demonstrated communication skills (both oral and written) are required as is the ability to explain complex issues in plain language. The candidate will be detail oriented, well organized, with the ability to meet deadlines and to work independently with minimal supervision. Prior research or service experience with individuals and/or families with mental health and addiction issues are an advantage. You have the ability to work effectively in a variety of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
