Canada Learning Director

Position Description:

The SBU (Strategic Business Unit) Learning Director will work with key business stakeholders in the region to identify high priority business requirements, manage regional learning operations, and work with the Learning & Development (L&D) Centre of Expertise (CoE) for learning solutions that will have the greatest business impact in their region.
This role reports to the Global Head of Learning & Development and is also a member of the HR leadership team for Canada.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

•Leads a team of Learning consultants and experts to design and deliver SBU learning requirements while partnering closely with colleagues in the L&D CoE on best-in-class learning solutions.
•Consults with business unit leaders and HR business partners to assess learning needs and identify learning and development solutions aligned to S/BU business strategy, including building critical technology, technical, business, professional, consulting and leadership skills.
•Articulates S/BU learning priorities into an annual learning plan.
•Localizes global learning programs and solutions.
•Leads the implementation of SBU-wide and business units learning programs
•Supports the L&D CoE to identify, implement and oversee global learning technologies for members to stay connected and drive their own development.
•Oversees and negotiates regional vendor contracts, as required, and partners with vendors to develop learning experiences and solutions that build member capabilities.
•Tracks, analyzes and reports on SBU and BU learning activities based on data driven strategy.
•Stays abreast of latest advancements in learning and development and shares these across the L&D CoE.
•Talent, Culture and Learning projects as identified - based on workload capacity, capabilities and career interests.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

•Minimum 10 years’ experience of managing HR, ideally L&D function including portfolio, process and project management experience or equivalent transferable experience in a matrix, global / international organization.
•Has business acumen with an understanding of how organizations drive results through their people and has a passion for improving business performance through the deployment of effective learning and development solutions.
•Proven track record of delivering multiple / complex projects and/or program management and able to manage a budget and report on progress and achievements.
•Well-versed in adult education best practices and learning facilitation, developing innovative blended learning solutions, curriculum design skills using instructional design methodologies and technology and measuring the efficiency / effectiveness of learning solutions.
•Exceptional performance consulting skills, able to translate business priorities into actionable learning strategy.
•Strong understanding of modern technology, tools, and methods to drive organizational learning using a data driven strategy.
•Able to build relationships with and influence all levels of the organization including senior / executive business leaders, HR / Learning colleagues, and external partners.
•Inspiring and dynamic leader, able to provide direction and coaching to a team of learning professionals.
•Demonstrates curiosity and is a life-long learner.
•Has led a Learning Team (5 +) for a large complex, matrix, global organization.
•Fluency in English (B2/C1 minimum) is a requirement as you will be part of a global CoE.
•Post-graduate education in business, Human Resources, Adult Learning, Organization Devepopment or equivalent is an asset.
•Fluency in English (B2/C1 minimum) is a requirement as you will be part of a global CoE. French is an asset.
