Senior Financial Analyst

Position Description:

The Senior Consultant of Financial Business Services (FBS) is an accounting expert and a consultant to the local FBS team to deliver standard general accounting support to the legal entity. As senior consultant in the FBS team in Canada, you will be mainly responsible for the local compliance of our Canadian legal entities with respect to sales taxes. Besides preparing and filing the sales tax returns, you will be our key contact for other local compliances for our internal and external stakeholders. You will also have the opportunity to support our international team on the preparation of statutory financial statements in different jurisdictions including the organization of audits.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

-Involvement in SOX and various compliance accounting (indirect taxes, payroll, statutory FS)
-Review, analysis, preparation and timely filing of monthly sales tax returns (PST, GST, HST and QST) for Canadian entities including the review of General Ledger accounts and invoices
-Reconciliation of General Ledger accounts related to sales taxes (PST, GST, HST and QST);
as well as preparation and posting of journal entries
-Accurate and timely submission of tax declarations
-Contact person for sales tax related questions for Canadian entities
-Support and preparation of information required for sales tax audits
-Computation of withholding taxes between India and Canada BU, preparation of reports and posting of associated journal entries
-Keep up-to-date with local compliances and assess relevance for the legal entity
-Support on the preparation of Financial Statements in Canada and other Strategic Business Units and assistance with external auditors
-Demonstrate technical accounting expertise and knowledge of accounting standards
-Support on further process improvements like automation and centralization

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Functional/Technical
-Excellent knowledge of Canadian sales tax
-Good knowledge of IFRS
-Able to set up financial statement, cash-flow, and tax preparation & filing
-Good knowledge of other local tax and financial compliance
-Knowledgeable in ERP systems
-MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
-Oracle finance applications knowledge is considered an asset

REQUIREMENTS GEOGRAPHIC
-Local responsibility requiring limited travel
-Located in Quebec

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION
-University Degree and CPA (CPA auditor title will be given preference)
-Fluent in the English Language (written and spoken) is required

EXPERIENCE
-Working in a complex high volume multi-site international services organization or within an audit firm
-Working with auditors and/or internal controls within a SOX control environment
-Managing financial teams
-Providing coaching and training to various stakeholders
-Experience, proficiency and comfort in communicating and working effectively at various levels
-Proven experience in continuous process improvement in a finance environment
-Experience in the Service industry is preferred
