The City of Mississauga has an opportunity for a Marketing Consultant, Digital Services join our Strategic Communications & Initiatives Division. Reporting to the Supervisor Digital Services, the successful applicant will work collaboratively to create, edit, and publish user-focused content to the City’s digital channels.
About You:
As a Marketing Consultant, Digital Services, you are a motivated team player who has a passion for digital marketing. You are detail-oriented and organized, with diverse skills that can be applied to a variety of digital platforms and channels.
As a member of the digital team, the successful candidate will lead the digital strategy including development of campaign strategies for IDEA Mississauga & SaugaParksRec which includes overseeing the development of focused content, client relations & trafficking of all paid content across multiple platforms. You will plan, organize, and publish standards-compliant content for social media & digital properties under the IDEA Mississauga & SaugaParksRec banners.
Primary responsibilities:
• Creating and executing digital marketing strategies, and public facing digital communications projects. This includes using digital channels to build trust, drive citizen participation, and enhance online services
• Responsibilities will include designing for web and mobile by following strategies formed from detailed analysis and reporting for campaigns, online behavior and target markets
• Establishing trackable performance indicators and integrating their measurement into multi-channel campaigns to deliver key insights
• Participating in cross-departmental work teams to support City's strategic goals
• Support the Communications/Marketing efforts to improve digital marketing channels, and participate in implementing the City's communication and digital strategy
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams that include designers, writers, application developers and business analysts
• Writing & deployment of the IDEA monthly newsletter
Paid Media & Data Experience:
• Strong acumen in digital performance marketing & budget management
• Ability to monitor and optimize ads across multiple media channels
• Work with the Coordinator, digital marketing to craft performance metrics & analytics for on-going tactics and campaign wrap reports
- University degree or diploma in digital communications related education plus five years of related experience is required
- Strong understanding of digital channel landscape to include knowledge of campaigns across paid search, social, display, video, attribution methodology
- Understanding of Social Media platforms, their respective participants (Facebook, X, Google, YouTube, Instagram, TiktTok etc.) and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios
- Portfolio of work that demonstrates your passion and ability to design and write great content for the web in plain English
- Ability to work and adapt in a fast-paced environment with a demonstrated ability to accomplish multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Experience with operating SLR camera and digital video camera
Hourly Rate/Salary: $41.93 - $55.91 (based on salary Grade E $ 76,313.00 - $ 101,753.00)
