Job Summary

The City of Mississauga has an opportunity for a Digital Coordinator to join our Strategic Communications & Initiatives Division. Reporting to the Supervisor Digital Services, the successful applicant will work collaboratively to create, edit, and publish user-focused content to the City’s digital channels.

About You:
As a Digital Coordinator, you are a motivated team player who has a passion for social media content creation. You are detail-oriented and organized, with diverse skills that can be applied to a variety of digital platforms and channels.

Duties and Responsibilities

As a member of the digital team, the successful candidate will support the development of user-focused content, community management & trafficking of content for our social media channels. You will plan, organize, and publish standards-compliant content for social media & digital properties under the SaugaParksRec & City of Mississauga banners.

You’ll need to:
• Work with the Digital Marketing Consultant to develop campaign plans and execute based on the existing digital strategy
• Community manage and oversee social media content

• Produce video & still shoots from ideation through to completion

• Assist with on site activations
• Building of content calendar
• Actively monitor and listen across social channels to respond to opportunities and issues in a

timely manner

Paid Media & Data Experience:
• Have an understanding of digital media spend through paid strategy
• Support the Digital Marketing Consultant with monitoring and optimization of media channels
• Work with the marketing consultant to pull performance metrics for on-going tactics and campaign wrap reports

Skills and Qualifications
  • University degree or diploma in digital communications related education plus three years of related experience is required
  • Strong understanding of digital channel landscape to include knowledge of campaigns across paid search, social, display, video, attribution methodology
  • Understanding of Social Media platforms, their respective participants (Facebook, X, Google, YouTube, Instagram, TiktTok etc.) and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios
  • Portfolio of work that demonstrates your passion and ability to design and write great content for the web in plain English
  • Ability to work and adapt in a fast-paced environment with a demonstrated ability to accomplish multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Experience with operating SLR camera and digital video camera
