POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Jazz Newman, a welcoming retirement home, is currently looking for a maintenance attendant to fill a permanent full-time position, 40 hours per week, 3 days a week and every weekend according to the following schedule: Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 3 days a week from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the maintenance manager when needed.
- All other related tasks
- Communicate the maintenance needs for materials and products and upkeep of the building to the immediate superior
- Maintenance and cleaning of indoor and outdoor parking lots
- Make service calls
- Perform minor repairs in apartments and common areas
- Preventive maintenance on equipment
- Remove snow and ice on sidewalks
- Taking out the trash
- 1 year of relevant experience will be considered an important asset
- Knowledge of retirement homes, a major asset
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical and minor repairs
- Professional training in general building maintenance (an asset)
