The location in Montréal, (Quebec, Canada), is seeking talent to fill the position of Director of Organizational Change Management. This job is full-time permanent.
Overview:
Reporting to Vice-President IT Transformation & Strategy, the Director of Organizational Change Management is responsible for overseeing the cultural integration within Domtar for all business units and Domtar operating companies. This position will be a key contributor to the success of the IT Transformation & Strategy team in supporting process and technology-based transformation and integration initiatives. As such, you will work closely with the OCM teams from our different consulting partners and solution integrators to ensure a consistent and unified approach when interacting with our business stakeholders. This role requires strong experience with organizational change management, organizational alignment combined with a project and value delivery mindset.
Your challenges:
Strategic Organizational Change Management and Alignment
• Develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive change management strategy tailored to Domtar’s transformation and post-merger integration initiatives.
• Lead the development of change management strategy, leadership alignment plan, communication stream, as well as training strategies and plans
• Collaborate with VP Personnel, Talent and Culture, IT Transformation and Strategy project managers as well as business leadership to manage change, provide opportunities to influence change and promote change acceptance at every level of the organization.
• Work with various members of the executive to achieve business process alignment, when this alignment is supported by business value, in the context of post-merger integration.
Operational Management & Team Leadership
• Coach and guide a team of program and project managers in the delivery of their respective initiatives, fostering change awareness in the early phases of each project within a high-performance culture.
• Ensure the various OCM teams from the Domtar consulting partners and solution integrators are aligned to Domtar’s change management strategy and practices.
• Set clear objectives, KPIs, and milestones to guide transformation project members in achieving change acceptance and adoption of new business solutions.
• Help project managers understand and incorporate the budgetary and scheduling impacts of change management and organizational alignment activities.
Organizational Alignment
• Implement and manage a register of risks, issues and required decisions which impact Domtar’s ability to achieve process alignment and cross-organizational integration.
• Partner with internal business units and stakeholders to help them and their teams adopt changes brought forth by different integration and transformation initiatives allowing them to achieve the benefits of these projects.
• Interact with the change management teams of other large-scale initiatives to align strategies when the same stakeholders are impacted within similar timelines.
• Demonstrate mature change sensitivity to help senior management manage and meet expectations with stakeholders at all levels of the company.
• Act as a change agent, advocate, and influencer: Manages stakeholder concerns and expectations through ongoing dialogue and feedback.
Communication
• Unify communications from the different IT departments into a single coherent communication to be distributed company wide. This communication is to be produced at a regular and reliable frequency with some special purpose communications to be added as needed.
Your profile:
• Bilingual French and English
• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science or communications.
• Minimum of 10 years in a leadership change management role, with proven experience in the manufacturing industry.
• Certifications: Prosci, CCMP or equivalent certification.
• Operational Knowledge: Expertise and a demonstrated track record in tailoring change management methodologies to closely align with the type of project or program being delivered, the stakeholders involved and the timeline imperatives.
• Executive Alignment Acumen: Facilitate alignment between executives with a view to evolving business processes and practices towards a single Domtar way of working. This is in the context of post-merger integration and alignment.
• Decision making skills: Encourage the identification of relevant options and then selecting the best option in terms of optimizing time and resources in attaining change management and organizational desired outcomes.
• Representative of Domtar: Be a positive spokesperson for Domtar and its IT transformation and post-merger integration initiatives.
