If so, we are currently looking for a Pipeline Maintenance Technician in Westover (located in West Flamborough part of the City of Hamilton). You will be responsible for completing repair duties and maintenance on the pipeline, right-of-way and related pipeline facilities. What you will do:

  • Responsible for completing activities related to planned maintenance, Operating and Capital Projects and emergency response. Including supporting the Electrical and Mechanical Technicians and Field Operators, and assisting with pipeline tie-ins, valve maintenance, pump and other piping modifications, and maintenance activities on ROW (e.g. brushing, grass cutting, sign repair, etc.), as required. Expectation is to also take a lead role with crews and working groups or conduct planning for the activities.
  • Effective and timely completion of all documentary requirements for completing tasks (i.e ensures preventative maintenance is complete, creates and fulfills work orders, follows Enbridge and regulatory requirements for document completion and control and ensures administrative controls and record keeping requirement are being adhered to.
  • Safely operate all specialized pipeline repair equipment (e.g. compressors, pneumatic and hydraulic tools, pipe cutters, vapor tools, torque wrenches, pumps, loaders, etc.).
  • Provide effective assistance in emergency response activities including containment, repair and cleanup, this includes both water and land responses and ensure appropriate level of emergency response preparedness through completion of training and the maintenance of equipment.
  • Provides support to other departments responsible for pipeline and facility integrity (e.g. pigging, piping upgrades, sleeving, etc.).
  • Support damage prevention programs primarily through the completion of One-Call requests (pipeline/facility locates) and third-party crossings. Locate requests are to be handled/marked promptly, accurately, and safely.
  • Perform all duties with a high regard for safety, ensuring all work is following Company safety, environmental and operating procedures/policies and in accordance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all stakeholders and government agencies along the right-of-way and all other internal and external departments.

Who you are:

  • Completion of a High School Diploma or General Education Development with 2 or more years of related pipeline repair, pipeline maintenance work, welding experience is not required but an asset.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Class G drivers' license in good standing.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge and experience with various handheld tools and machinery.
  • Undergo various background screening that includes but is not limited to 5-year driving record, criminal check and a company sponsored medical and drug testing.

Working Conditions:

  • Mix of office and field, with frequent travel within the area.
  • 9/80 schedule.
  • Hours of work vary depending on workload, emergency response, capital projects and line schedules.
  • This position requires lifting, bending, crouching, standing and lifting up to 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis, can be physically demanding outdoor work.
  • On-call as required.
  • Responsible for responding to emergency conditions (line leaks, equipment breakdowns, etc.).
  • Required to reside within 45 minutes from location for emergency response purposes.
