Job Description

The Senior Manager, HR Solutions & Systems will be responsible for day-to-day management of their technical team to meet delivery commitments on projects, backlog and issues aligned with Extendicare's strategic priorities. This is a critical role supporting Extendicare's HR transformation journey and evolution.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement and will be based at our Head Office located in Markham, ON.

Accountabilities include:

  • Builds and manages a high-performing team of IT professionals focused on technical delivery, solutioning, design, execution, and ongoing support for Workday HCM platform, specifically Payroll, Time Tracking and Absence.

  • Builds strong relationships and trust, fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration and an agile delivery mindset to drive results.

  • As a strong collaborator, proactively engages and drives stakeholders to provide feedback on product strategies and technical solutions that support our internal program partners and employees.

  • Demonstrates thought leadership leading and facilitating cross-functional ideation, innovation, and problem-solving, to drive the portfolio towards actionable deliverables.

  • Anticipates and remediates project bottlenecks and blockers in short term and long-term work to ensure smooth operation of their team.

  • Bridges the gap between strategy and execution by setting targets and corresponding operational plans.

  • Is a technical expert with Workday Payroll or Time Tracking, understanding complex configurations and concepts such as collective agreements, multiple unions, etc., and supports solutioning to complex requirements.

  • Anchors accountability with the team to showcase the value they provide through metrics and reporting.

  • Understands and discusses technical concepts, manages trade-offs, and prioritizes meeting delivery deadlines.

  • Leads by example, demonstrating integrity, creativity, and enthusiasm in achieving results directly.

  • Establishes and maintains a network of relationships with other Workday user groups in the Healthcare industry, and vendor partners.

  • Acts independently with a low level of supervision. Possesses the ability to determine when to escalate broader impacting decisions to senior management.

  • Makes decisions where results have critical impact across the organization requiring sophisticated solutions and long-term correction.

  • Collaborate with the security team to implement integrations and maintain proper access controls.

  • Fosters a culture of teamwork, collaboration, agility, and culture of engagement.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Health-related fields, Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.

  • Workday certified with 5+ years of experience with Unions and Collective Agreements configuration.

  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role managing IT professionals

  • Experience and expertise in leading and managing information technology portfolios and implementing complex broad-based IT systems.

  • Ability to apply specific agile practices, sprints to expedite delivery.

  • Excellent knowledge of project delivery practices in a matrix environment.

  • Excellent knowledge of SDLC.

  • Experience with healthcare integration projects.

  • Knowledge of user centric design and innovation.

  • Experience managing simultaneous projects from initiation to completion.

  • Strong leadership, motivation, and interpersonal skills and an adept team builder who is action oriented, with a record of accomplishment of motivating his/her team to achieve higher goals and improving the impact of technology initiatives.

  • Effective presentation skills and the ability to present material to large technical and non-technical audiences.
