Located in Calgary, Foundations for the Future Charter Academy (FFCA) is the largest public charter school in Alberta, soon to be serving over 4000 students in eight campuses throughout the city. We offer educational programming through a Distinctive Teaching and Learning Framework developed within the Alberta context for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. FFCA is seeking to hire an Accounting Clerk with an immediate start date. Position Summary
Reporting to the CFO, the CO - Accounting Clerk is responsible for data processing and supporting the CO Accounting Analyst, Director of Finance, and CFO in all accounting processes.
Responsibilities
The Accounting Clerk's responsibilities would include but not limited to:
Central Office Operations
Ensures timely and accurate data entry of AP invoices related to CO -inclusion, facilities, and transportation.
Main contact for our vendors
Supports the invoicing of all CO needs i.e., inclusion, facilities, CO rentals, Transportation, etc.
Codes and enters financial transactions into the organization's financial system - Atrieve
Supports utility invoice management
Supports the CO Accounting Analyst with property management services
Supports month-end process as directed
Campus Financial Support
Supports campus admin in the fee management system (Rycor) for school- based fees
Provide broad financial and business support to Campus Administrative Assistants
Assist school staff in implementing and following central purchasing requirements and standards, and in procuring goods and services for their schools in an efficient, effective and economical manner
General Support Functions
Provides administrative support by preparing correspondence, reports and other documents, photocopying and general office duties
Responsible for following the Records Retention policies for various documents
Other related duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Attributes
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to take initiative and work independently
Positive interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as a team member
Proficiency in Microsoft/Office 365/SharePoint
Desired Experience and/or Training
Post-secondary diploma or certificate in accounting or related field is an asset
Previous experience in Accounts Payable
Previous experience in Financial Management including budgeting, banking, tracking expenses, fee collection is an asset
