Campus Technology Analyst 1.0 FTE - Probationary Central Office

Located in Calgary, Foundations for the Future Charter Academy (FFCA) is the largest public charter school in Alberta, soon to be serving over 4000 students in eight campuses throughout the city. We offer educational programming through a Distinctive Teaching and Learning Framework developed within the Alberta context for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. FFCA is seeking to hire a Campus Technology Analyst with an immediate start date. Position Summary

The Campus Technology Support Analyst is responsible for providing technical support and assistance to the staff and students of the K-12 public school division across nine campuses. The role involves troubleshooting and maintaining various on-site supporting infrastructure such as paging, printing, audio-visual and device systems, as well as educational technology related devices such as laptops, tablets, chrome books, and view boards. The Campus Technology Support Analyst also collaborates with the central office team and other campus staff to ensure the smooth operation and integration of the technology systems and services.

Responsibilities

The Campus Technology Analyst's responsibilities would include but not limited to:

Provide on-site technology support to staff and students.

Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot campus hardware (laptops, desktops, tablets, printers, interactive displays).

Update and upgrade software and hardware as needed, ensuring compliance with security and privacy policies and standards.

Maintain and monitor campus supporting infrastructure (paging, phones, printing, IP Cameras and audio-visual) ensuring their functionality and availability.

Provide technical support for administrative and educational processes/functions with technology components, including classroom instruction, student assessments, inclusive learning, mobile and fixed computer labs.

Assist staff and students in the effective and appropriate evaluation, adoption and use of educational technology related devices and systems.

Collaborate with the central IT team and other campus staff to coordinate campus technology needs and requests to ensure optimal performance and functionality of campus technology.

Document and update technology support activities, processes, and procedures, and maintain the documentation and records of the campus technology systems and services using established incident management and service request system.

Other related duties as assigned.

Desired Education, Experience and/or Training

Technical diploma in computer related area at a recognized institution or equivalent experience.

3-5 years of directly applicable experience or equivalent.

A combination of education and experience will be considered, i.e. a diploma in a related field from a technical institution plus years of experience.

Preference will be given to candidates who have previously been employed in a K-12 setting and can display an understanding of the specific challenges working in this environment.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Attributes

Demonstrable working knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN/Ethernet, switching, wireless solutions, VOIP.

End-user device configuration and troubleshooting, including device imaging, MDM management, device.

Classroom Audio-Visual technologies.

Windows 11 imaging and deployment.

Packaging and deployment of software to company portal using Intune for Education

Experience and familiarity with K-12 technologies and solutions:

Google Workspace for Education

Office 365 for Education

Basic understanding of Azure Active Directory, Exchange, Intune and related cloud services in Microsoft environment

General understanding of ITIL best practices, including incident management, problem management, service request fulfillment and change management.

Understanding of Defense-in-Depth or similar layered security frameworks, and the importance of cyber-security in a K-12 setting.

Demonstrated comprehension of the role of technology in educational institutions

Effective interpersonal communication skills to support a wide range of clients.

Demonstrated ability to apply sound problem-solving processes and troubleshooting systems.

Demonstrated ability to work and learn both as a member of a team and independently with minimal supervision.

Flexibility to manage changing workflows and time effectively.

Aptitude for innovation and continuous improvement.

High levels of service-oriented performance, integrity, and professionalism.
