GAL is a Transport Canada Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO 27-12) with 561 and 573 approval, AS9100 Rev C Certification, EASA 145 Certification and FAA authority. We offer maintenance, refurbishment, repairs and modifications of aircraft interior components for in-service Transport Category Aircraft.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The role of the Methods Agent is to define, implement and support the fabrication and assembly methods as well as functional testing in order to optimize the usage of resources.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND COMPETENCIES

  • Define and produce work instructions for the fabrication and assembly destined for the manufacturing of cabinets;
  • Work in close collaboration with the Engineering, Production, Logistics and quality functions;
  • Investigate root causes and analyze potential solutions taking into account cost, impacts and risks of a production change;
  • Ensure production change feasibility;
  • Analyze the feasibility of customer requests (P&O, C&O) and program change requests (PCR);
  • Plan and implement changes in production (all change affecting the production method) and coordinate first unit in production;
  • Support daily production activities;
  • Identify non-value added activities, eliminate them and optimize production;
  • Establish the following requirements: ergonomics & health & safety, tools and production equipment according to optimal work methodology;
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of methods procedures;
  • Participate in continuous improvement through the achieving excellence system;

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Technical college degree and/or equivalent experience;
  • 3-5 years of experience in aerospace or other related manufacturing industry;
  • Experience with MSOffice suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook);
  • Bilingual, French and English, spoken and written;
  • Knowledge of ERP software such as SAP, BAAN and CATIA V5;
  • Experience in cabinet making, finishing or composites, an asset;
  • Knowledge of aircraft structures, systems, and interiors, an asset.
  • Organized, good planner and problem-solver;
  • Good judgment, sense for innovation and good sense of decision;
  • Good interpersonal communication skills and customer oriented;
  • Strong project management skills and function well within a multidisciplinary team;
  • Capacity to read technical drawings and have good visualization skills in 3D.
