Contribute your Leadership and Governance Experience by joining the Board of Directors at the Oakville Hospital Volunteer Association
The Oakville Hospital Volunteer Association (OHVA) is a registered charity which supports the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH) in its commitment to delivering Exemplary Patient Experiences, always. OHVA does this in two ways - by supporting the hospital’s over 800 enthusiastic volunteers, it provides supplementary services, comforts and amenities to the patients of the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, and through fundraising and various retail operations, it grants funds to support OTMH.
OHVA is seeking two (2) candidates to serve on its Board of Directors and Standing Committees who will join the Board in June, 2025. Directors are elected for two-year terms, to a maximum of 10 years of service. We hold quarterly, 90-minute Board meetings (2 virtual and 2 in person) and an in person annual strategic planning meeting. Board members serve on 1 or 2 committees which generally meet each quarter for an hour, or as needed.
The Oakville Hospital Volunteer Association invites applications from individuals who are interested in using their expertise to make a difference in our community, and as we participate in the evolution of One Halton Healthcare. The Board of Directors is interested in hearing from individuals with the following skills and expertise to complement those of our existing Board of Directors:

- Brand Recognition & Marketing
- Fundraising
The successful Board Director will have an engaged presence, collaborative approach and executive profile, and be passionate about contributing to OHVA’s mission. They will be a strong independent voice and a collegial influencer, with energy and credentials that will complement the expertise and exemplary high standards of the existing Board Directors. Business acumen and governance experience or a related designation is preferred. Demonstrated not-for-profit or corporate board experience is required. We also strive for the composition of the Board to reflect the diversity of the communities served.
Interested applicants are invited to bring their skills, experience and enthusiasm to serve on our Board of Directors and can submit their expression of interest and a brief CV to Angie Box at [email protected].
