Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background in industrial engineering to oversee multiple projects involving the installation and commissioning of high-speed packaging assembly line machinery. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient execution of projects, from initial planning and resource allocation through to final commissioning and handover.
This role demands a deep understanding of industrial engineering principles and practices, coupled with extensive experience managing complex, large-scale machinery installations in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end project lifecycle, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management for multiple high-speed packaging machinery installation projects.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, procurement, etc.) to ensure seamless execution of projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards, quality control, and technical specifications.
- Oversee the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of packaging assembly line machinery, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Conduct regular project status updates, performance reporting, and stakeholder communications, ensuring transparency and alignment with client expectations.
- Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative environment that drives accountability and high performance.
- Identify potential risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies to avoid project delays or cost overruns.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, codes, and standards during the installation and commissioning phases.
- Manage vendor and contractor relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of services and equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience in a similar industrial project management setting.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience managing large-scale, high-speed packaging assembly line machinery projects in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience with machinery installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and operational efficiency.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or P.Eng (Professional Engineer) designation is an asset.
- Exceptional organizational, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively engage with stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and familiarity with industrial automation technologies.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Experience working in industries such as food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, or consumer goods packaging.
- Strong working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in an industrial setting.
