Job Description: The Social Worker - BSW, reporting directly to the Social Worker - BSW - Senior, has responsibility for professional psychosocial assessment and counselling with clients and families who are managing social and emotional impacts associated with physical illness. The Social Worker - BSW receives clinical supervision and administrative direction from the Manager and/or designate. The Social Worker - BSW is a competent clinical practitioner assisting individuals, families and groups. They offer a professional working relationship, including an understanding of the social work role, of a conceptual model of practice, and of the SHA philosophy, objectives and policies.

Experience
- Preference will be given to candidates with medical social work experience

- Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)

- Ability to advocate on behalf of clients
- Skilled in psycho-social assessment and the ability to work with individuals

- Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to work independently
- Knowledge of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action
- Knowledge of local and provincial resources and agencies
- Ability to apply learn knowledge and concepts in the health care environment
- Knowledge in the SHA, community resources and applicable programming
