Job Description: The Communications Specialist is responsible for implementing province-wide communication policies, practices, procedures, and plans, and helping to promote the overall strategic direction of the organization through internal and external communications and marketing efforts; management of issues; management of the province's reputation and brand; enhancement of media relations, government relations and community relations; development of corporate publications; and management of online and social media editorial content.

Experience

  • Communications experience within a large public sector organization
  • 3-5 years’ experience in media relations and/or communications

Education

  • Degree in Business Administration

Licenses

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

Other Education and Training

  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in journalism, Communication or Public Relations
