What to Expect:
As the Manager of PR & Events, you will help shape the public image and customer experience of Hudson’s Bay. You will be responsible for inputting into and executing dynamic events, supporting media pulls and requests, liaising with stores, writing and creating engaging content, and creating compelling campaigns and narratives that resonate with diverse audiences. You will measure and report on the results of the department, and help to share the team’s successes and learnings across the business. This role reports to the Director of PR & Events.
What You Will Do:
Help to manage the day-to-day operations of PR & Events for Hudson’s Bay
Build relationships with media representatives across platforms, including print, digital, and broadcast. Execute nationwide pitches, securing coverage for campaign launches, events, and brands.
Draft internal and external communications, adapting tonality based on various audience needs, including press releases, media alerts, presentation decks, and other communication materials.
Support event planning and implementation, from strategy development to tactical execution.
Collaborate closely with the Social Media team to ensure synergistic approaches to campaigns and initiatives.
Craft briefing materials for stakeholders on PR & Events-driven initiatives, ensuring awareness and buy-in.
Analyze key performance indicators, such as media coverage, sentiment analysis, and ad value, and provide regular reports on PR performance to senior management.
Serve as a liaison between the PR team and internal departments when needed.
Oversee daily press coverage monitoring, report creation and product pulls.
Some weekend/evening work may be required.
What you will bring to the team:
Minimum 6 years experience
Holds a degree or post-graduate certificate in PR/Communications
Direct experience in event planning and management
Proficiency in Microsoft, and Google Workspace with a working knowledge of tools such as Cision and other PR-related software
Understanding of the Canadian media landscape, with knowledge/contacts within fashion, lifestyle, and retail media
Proven track record in media relations, with the capability to leverage storytelling for varied audiences.
Ability to address and navigate through fast-paced and unanticipated challenges.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (a writing test will be required)
Bilingual proficiency is an asset
Experience with Adobe Suite is an asset
