Associate Lawyer – Insurance Litigation

They are seeking a seasoned Insurance or Civil Litigation Associate to add to their insurance group. With a comprehensive range of legal services, they believe in staying client-focused and providing innovative solutions.

In this role, the attorney will be teaming in services including insurance defense, tort and insurance coverage. This role will involve all aspects of litigation including advising clients, examinations for discovery, commercial litigation, mediations, arbitrations, trials and appeals.

Responsibilities

  • Providing legal analysis and advice in litigation, with a focus on specialty lines of insurance, professional negligence claims, construction professional litigation, and other sectors including insurance coverage related to municipal liability, police liability, occupier’s liability, liquor liability, property insurance, and product liability.
  • Maintaining relations with the insurers and insureds and reviewing documents in preparation for litigation.
  • Providing mentorship to junior lawyers and developing overall of skills.
  • Attending events for professional and business development strategies.

Qualifications

  • Barred under Ontario Bar.
  • 2-6 years of experience in Insurance Defense/ Civil Litigation.
  • Strong writing and analytical skills.
  • Trial experience and experience with working on files independently.
