IT Director

Impact Recruitment has teamed up with one of the fastest growing independently owned Insurance Brokerages based in Vancouver and are looking to add an IT Director to their growing team!

ABOUT OUR CLIENT

Our client is an independent brokerage the specializes in Business Insurance across British Columbia and Western Canada. They are proud to offer the best Insurance rates in the industry by maintaining access to over 20 Standard Market Insurance Companies and over 50 Specialty Insurance Markets, including coverholder agreements with Lloyd’s (London) and Peace Hills General Insurance.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As IT Director, you will support the IT Team in overseeing, implementing, and providing direction for all company technology associated with IT services, applications, data communications, telecoms, and computing services. Based out of downtown Vancouver, this position may require some travel to other offices in the lower mainland and some availability to occasionally work weekends as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensuring optimal performance for all computing and network systems and resolving escalated issues as required

• Managing cybersecurity and conducting / mitigating risk assessments

• Ensuring privacy and technology regulations are adhered to in all points of operation

• Monitoring and authorizing budget and expenditures

• Controlling IT equipment inventory and recommending new products where appropriate

• Developing and monitoring IT standards and best practices

• Leading IT projects and supervising the planning, coordination, and implementation of hardware & software services

• Evaluating performance management for IT team and monitoring daily operations

• Handling and delegating urgent IT-related operations in the absence of IT Manager

• Other job-related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Computer Science or IT

• Proven ability to communicate effectively, verbal and written

• Superior organizational, leadership, and time-management skills

• 5+ years’ experience in a senior IT management level position including: networking, windows server, IT, MS Operating Systems, and developing IT strategies and solutions for an organization

• Must be able to work fully on-site in Vancouver office and occasionally travel to other offices in the lower mainland as required
