As a Senior Underwriter, you will collaborate with internal teams to assess and evaluate risks for both new and existing clients. Reporting to the Senior Underwriting Manager, you will help develop and maintain a profitable portfolio by focusing on marketing, analysis, sales, service, and underwriting. Responsibilities

  • Underwrite new and renewal policies by assessing risks, pricing, selecting appropriate markets, and preparing quotes.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare and Medical Malpractice team underwriters and key stakeholders to ensure effective operations.
  • Assess, analyze losses, negotiate, rate, and issue policies for an assigned portfolio following company guidelines.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with brokers and markets through effective communication.
  • Oversee the administration of accounts from submission to expiration, ensuring accurate documentation and quality control.
  • Mentor junior underwriters and assist in developing marketing strategies to identify new business opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of Healthcare, Medical Malpractice, or Life Science underwriting experience
  • CIP Certification or equivalent, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, capable of building relationships and effectively managing multiple tasks in a service-oriented role
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable, with a proven ability to handle confidential material and thrive in changing environments
