About the Client
Our client is a small, second-generation family run developer builder that specialises in building wood frame townhome communities as well as some condos throughout Vancouver and Vancouver Island.

About the Opportunity
In this role you will be taking over a wood frame townhome project that is in the first of six phases. You will have a finishing superintendent to assist you and there are over 100 homes to be built in total. The project is expected to last two years and there are plenty more projects in the pipeline following this one.

About the Position
In this role your duties will include the following:

  • Manage and direct construction crews, subcontractors, and other personnel on-site. Assign tasks, provide guidance, and ensure that work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications.
  • Monitor the quality of work and materials used on the site. Regular inspections to ensure work is being conducted to the required quality.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel on-site. Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and audits to prevent accidents and mitigate risks.
  • Work in conjunction with the Project Manager to coordinate and oversee all aspects of the construction project, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Keep stakeholders informed about the progress of the construction project. Prepare regular reports detailing project milestones, budget updates, and any issues or challenges encountered.
  • Liaise with project owners, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to address concerns, resolve conflicts, and ensure that project objectives are met.
  • Obtain necessary permits and licenses for the construction project and ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and zoning requirements.
  • Identify and resolve issues that arise during the construction process, such as design changes, logistical challenges, or unexpected delays. Implement creative solutions to keep the project on track and within budget.

The Requirements

  • Experience running wood frame town home projects from start to finish.
  • Carpentry background an asset.
  • Proficient using Procore, MS Project and MS Suite.
  • Clean safety record.

CompensationN

  • $120,000 - $160,000 depending on experience.
  • 3-4 weeks vacation.
