Position Summary
Our MHSU team in Kelowna has a relief full time opportunity available. This position is part of our Substance use day treatment program. The role co-facilities a day treatment group and carries a small substance use counselling case load.

Your Role:
As a Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) Clinician, you will be at the heart of our integrated care team, delivering advanced, evidence-based treatment and support to individuals facing complex substance use and concurrent mental health challenges. Your role will involve conducting comprehensive assessments, crafting personalized treatment plans, and providing direct clinical interventions using a range of specialized modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing. Working closely with clients, their families, and a multidisciplinary team, you will ensure that each client receives the timely, responsive care they need to navigate their recovery journey and improve their overall well-being.

In addition to direct client care, you will play a key role in enhancing our service delivery through program planning, quality assurance, and community outreach. You will liaise with a variety of health and social services, advocating for clients and facilitating their access to essential resources across the continuum of care. Your expertise will also contribute to the development of clinical policies, standards of care, and educational initiatives aimed at improving outcomes for those affected by substance use and mental health issues. As a leader and mentor within the team, you will guide and support colleagues, students, and community partners, ensuring that our services remain at the forefront of best practices in MHSU care.

Scheduling Information:
This relief position is until July 31, 2025 or return of the incumbent. This position works Tuesday to Saturday day shifts from 10:00 to 18:00.

Qualfications
• Masters degree from an accredited educational institution in an Allied Health, Behavioural, or Social Science field relevant to the position.

• Two years’ recent related experience in an alcohol and drug treatment environment or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

• Current valid B.C. driver’s license.
