Position Summary
We are currently seeking a permanent part time (0.88 FTE) Psychiatric Aide to join our team at the Hillside Centre - Interior Adult Psychiatric Centre in Kamloops, B.C.

What Will You Work On?
The Psychiatric Aide performs a variety of duties in the personal care and emotional support of patients. These duties are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, standards and philosophies of Hillside Interior Acute Psychiatric Centre; Tertiary Mental Health and Addictions Services, and Interior Health.
About this unit
Hillside Centre is a 47-bed inpatient tertiary psychiatric facility located in Kamloops, BC. It provides specialized treatment for those with the most complex mental health disorders, both adults and elderly individuals who cannot be care for in the psychiatric system in their own area, not just within Interior Health but throughout the province.
Hillside’s focus is on diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric disorders as well as psychosocial rehabilitation strategies to promote stabilization and reintegration into the community to return home. Major psychiatric treatment programs offered at Hillside are:
• Neuropsychiatry
• Adult
• Geriatric
• Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
Scheduling Information:
Shifts of will work will be rotating days, and evenings with shift times of 08:00 to 18:00 hours.

Qualfications
Education, Training and Experience:
• Grade 12
• Resident Care Attendant Certificate (Please include RCA registration #)
• One year recent related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Current First Aid, CPR, and Food Safe Certificates
• A valid class V BC driver’s license.
• BC Care Aide and Community Health Worker registry (please include your number)
