Description

The Cloud Centre of Excellence is accountable for the delivery of modern cloud services, applications, and managed services supporting our internal workforce as well as client delivery teams. The CCoE DevOps Developer will have a key role in the DevOps automation of our various platforms and solutions.
Your role will include experimenting and evaluating emerging technologies, prototyping, and building POC(s) with our business partners. You will be a key contributor to developing our core assets and help the business to adopt the platform for various functions and homegrown client-facing applications.
This position can be performed remotely.
What you will do
- Designing, developing, testing and deploying the core DevOps assets of the platform alongside all related tools, applications and services
- Design, implement and govern the monitoring, alerting and dashboards related to the platform and projects leveraging it. Work with the ITS OPS team to define and design technical operational and support requirements
- Focusing on DevOps for modern web applications and cloud services
- Innovating, experimenting and proof of concept (POC) with modern cloud-native DevOps technology stacks
- Guiding and instructing our business teams in their path to adopt the platform, and help documenting technical solutions as needed
- Remaining vigilant about company’s commitment to operational excellence, enterprise readiness, security and compliance. Collaborate closely with the ITS security, OPS, and architecture groups.
What you bring to the role
- A university degree (or similar) in computer science or other related discipline
- At least 2 years of experience with hands-on DevOps CI/CD development, covering the below domains:
- Automating builds, releases, and pipelines, with advantage to knowledge with GitHub Actions (other tools: Jenkins, TravisCI, Azure ADO).
- Infrastructure as code with, with advantage to knowledge with Terraform (other tools: AWS CloudFormation).
- IAAS, PAAS and SAAS. Knowledge in cloud native application design on Azure (primarily), AWS or GCP.
- Complex multi-tier cloud application architectures that are scalable and repeatable. Familiarity with various application technology stacks, Serverless, Kubernetes and Opensource technologies.
- Scripting development (e.g., with Bash, PowerShell, Python, etc.).
- DevSecOps; Strong understanding of all DevOps security aspects related to infrastructure and applications, including tools, monitoring, and scanning.
- Designing, implementing/developing and governing monitoring tools, CLIs and dashboards.
- Git branching and source code management within enterprise team setup.
- Strong collaboration, communications and reporting skills, to drive teamwork.
- Bringing both strategic and innovative mindsets.
This position requires written and oral fluency in English. The successful candidate will be required to support or collaborate with English-speaking colleagues or stakeholders nationally in our English speaking provinces while at KPMG.
KPMG BC Region Pay Range Information
The expected base salary range for this position is $73,000 to $109,500 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
