The KPMGI: Our Impact Plan is a team within Global Corporate Affairs responsible for the implementation of KPMGI's Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) commitments. The KPMG: Our Impact Plan has four main focus areas - People, Planet, Prosperity and Governance
The candidate will be reporting into the Director, Global Planet, who is responsible for the Planet pillar of Our Impact Plan and reports directly into the Global Head of Sustainability.
What you will do
- Supports the Global Planet Director to manage and deliver on publicly stated Planet commitments and prepare regular planet updates to the Board, Global Management Team and other management presentations for senior leadership.
- Support the Global Planet Director to design decarbonization lever strategies and lead on areas of implementation across renewable energy, sustainable travel, sustainable technology and internal carbon pricing, as well as working closely with global sustainable procurement team as the SME to implement phase two of our global procurement sustainability strategy for 700+ suppliers.
- Project management and provide subject matter expertise to support the preparation, re-baselining and modelling of our Science Based Targets (SBTs). Engage with Global Board Firms to support the data collections for the annual decarbonization forecast and gap analysis. This includes developing supporting tools and materials to support improved quality and consistency.
- Lead on stakeholder engagement and the preparation of materials for key Planet forums, including the Planet Working Group, Global Technical Decarbonization Working Group and Global Decarbonization Leadership Advisory Group, working closely with our ESG client team to leverage market leading best practice and insights.
- Lead on areas of implementation regarding KPMG International’s own decarbonization strategy, legislative requirements and supporting programs. Subject Matter Expert on KPMG’s Planet strategy, proactively sharing best practice across member firms, with a focus on Board firms and firm clusters.
- Work closely with the ESG Reporting Director and ESG Reporting Manager on planet reporting. Support the Limited Assurance process. Support on Transition Plan development preparation and ongoing management.
What you bring to the role
- Minimum of 5 years sustainability experience or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience.
- Strong technical acumen on sustainability with ideally in-house experience from strategy through to delivery.
- Strong relationship building skills with senior stakeholders – internally and externally – and ability to work across a diverse stakeholder group with different skill sets and levels of seniority.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects with curiosity and motivation to develop new strategies and work with complexity.
- Strong communication skills - verbal and written.
