Role Mandate:

The Associate Project manager will support strategic and transformation projects that will help propel the team forward. As the Associate Project Manager, you will play an integral role in planning, managing and ensuring successful execution of strategic initiatives as well as manage or collaborate with large stakeholder groups across, Brands etc. to ensure alignment with the same common goal. This individual for specific initiatives will strategize on the holistic plan to ensure people, process, and technology along with change management is delivered successfully along with supporting presentations for respective leadership members on the projects. The successful candidate will bring bold, fresh thinking combined with marketing, project management, technology, and industry expertise to help fuel transformation in the organization.

What you’ll do:

  • Project Management: Works with Loblaw Companies Limited (LCL) partners across Brands, procurement, planning etc. to gather key stakeholders to manage recurring meetings, status updates, timelines, charters, action registers while tracking and ensuring the key projects are on track for delivery and budget. They will also support presentations and status updates to members across senior leadership and the working team. In addition, they will be required to lead meetings and effectively communicate with stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Builds and maintains collaborative partnerships with relevant teams across the organization to advocate for strategic Initiatives needs and ensure accessibility of required inputs. Builds a knowledge of LCL’s currently available assets, tools, and capabilities, and promotes the advancement of project . They will ensure clear and concise communication skills and natural ability to facilitate connections across stakeholders.
  • Innovation: Pursues leading innovative and effective problem solving solutions within our compliance guardrails evolves skillset and approach to the needs of the business and strives to bring best in class marketing project management practices to the organization
  • Leadership: Influences project team performance through collaborative candor, adaptability and leading by example. Demonstrates a drive to achieve project success and is invested in the success of marketing stakeholders.

Outcomes & KPIs:

  • Support the definition of project baseline KPIs, metrics, measurement framework and supporting processes
  • Drive adoption of data/assets/tools to support reporting to leadership and stakeholder
  • Delivery of quick wins and long-range planning initiatives within the Strategic Initiatives to the organization
  • Support meetings, project and business objectives, ability to leverage data and insights)
  • Completion of key milestones & delivery of overall projects

What you’ll need:

  • 3-5+ years of experience specifically related to project and stakeholder management, strategic initiative changes within business, retail, full ownership and accountability on tasks
  • Experience with and working knowledge of Take to Market, Retail Execution and project Change Management
  • 3+ years’ experience with project management and marketing operations tools
  • Bachelor’s degree or MBA experience - focused in marketing, analytics, strategy an asset
  • PMP designation or project management certification (including Agile/Scrum) required or proven equivalent years’ experience managing complex and cross functional projects
  • Proven ability to lead and collaborate multiple stakeholders to build a comprehensive strategy, roadmap and action plan to deliver key milestones for the marketing organization
  • Experience building documents and presenting to C-suite executives
  • Experience managing projects within complex matrix organizations is a plus and proven knowledge and ability to build PM cadence and rigor to deliver projects successfully is mandatory
