Why is this role important?
We are looking for a talented manager to join the Loblaw Companies Limited Social Media Centre of Excellence. The Social Media Manager is responsible for overseeing and executing control brands and retail banner social media strategies. They manage and optimize social media campaigns to enhance brand awareness and drive audience engagement. This role reports into the Senior Social Media Manager and will work closely with brand marketing and cross-functional teams.
What you'll do:
- Develop and execute social media platform strategies for assigned brand or banner portfolios aligned with marketing objectives (i.e., enhance brand visibility, increase engagement, and drive website traffic).
- Optimize and maintain company social pages across all social media platforms to ensure consistency and up-to-date information. Implement SEO best practices, including keyword research, compelling video titles, descriptions, and tags, to enhance visibility and discoverability, when applicable.
- Manage day-to-day activities on social media platforms, including content scheduling, posting, copy writing, monitoring, and reporting using Sprout Social tool.
- Oversee all local social media tool kits and ad-hoc campaign support for retail store teams nationally
- Conduct social media listening and monitoring to gather insights, track performance metrics, and provide recommendations for optimization.
- Stay updated on emerging social media trends, tools, and best practices, and proactively identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
- Maintain social media playbook to ensure consistency in brand voice, messaging, and content across all platforms.
- Monitor social media feeds to ensure we are meeting customer demands and addressing inquiries in a timely manner.
What you’ll need:
- Post-secondary education equivalent to a college diploma or university degree in marketing, media, or related field
- 5+ years proven Social Media Management experience
- Leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team and foster a collaborative work environment
- Excellent knowledge of social media tools and listening platforms such as Sprout Social
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with impeccable proofreading and grammar skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively source information, pitch, and present ideas, obtain approvals, build relationships, and provide sufficient influence to achieve success
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical and project management skills,
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and reacting quickly to shifting priorities
