Role
The incumbent will be responsible for handling all aspects of the project, that is, the preparatory work for the construction, the base building, the layout of new stores and renovated stores, as well as timelines, quality and costs for all banners under Loblaw, Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix.
Accountabilities:- Responsible for management of the entire project, site work and base building and fixturing of new and renovated stores including schedules, quality standards and costs.
- Ensure that the store is clean and has a safe environment for our employees & customers
- Monitor critical path items for compliance and surface exceptions and non-compliant activities to senior management.
- Ensure Loss Prevention programs are adhered to.
- Prepare preliminary and final construction budgets and phasing plans for renovations and new stores.
- Interact with Senior management and operations in implementing their needs and requests
- Review, order and handle all equipment to ensure layouts are respected.
- Ensure tender documents are complete, clear and concise to allow for competitive pricing of projects
- Effectively connect with contractor, sub-trades, suppliers and consultants to ensure they are working in an effective manner
- Monitor schedules; resolve delays
- Schedule all aspects of the project, including coordination with fixturing, set-up manager
- Ensure projects are coordinated in an organized manner, allowing for operational activities to continue with minimal disruption and minimal customer inconvenience
- Ensure construction/renovation projects run efficiently, contractors meet timeliness and equipment arrives on site when required
- Post- secondary education (Construction/Project Management preferred, Engineer)
- experience in retail project management/merchandising and construction an asset
- Confirmed negotiating skills
- Knowledge of computer systems (Microsoft Office) with the skills to learn new programs
- Autonomous
- Experience with SAP systems an asset
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Flexible hours
- Operational knowledge and experience is an asset
- Must be fully bilingual in French/English, both verbal and written
- Must be flexible to travel between the Quebec and Atlantic regions.
