As a key member of the Disability Leadership team, the AVP Disability Transformation will partner closely with the VP Life & Disability and the entire Disability Leadership team in developing strategies and is accountable for implementing the actions that will transform the business and drive the strategy forward. This role needs someone with extensive knowledge of the Disability industry. They must be a collaborative leader who can drive groundbreaking change through technology, process, and organizational improvement. The main goal is to improve value in a cost-efficient way. Removing barriers and influencing collaborators are key skills to ensure business objectives are met. This role needs to anticipate, monitor, and proactively adjust its approach based on feedback loops that affect the business model. Awareness of technology, third-party providers, regulatory developments, and competitor actions is required to optimally set a future vision for Disability.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with the VP Life & Disability on the development of Disability strategy and action plans to evolve how we service our customers and their employees while equipping our employees with the tools to deliver best-in-class service.
  • Lead partner engagement, governance, metrics, KPIs, and transparency of operations to collaborators.
  • Help to identify operational changes required to support business priorities and strategies and develop/implement activities to optimally support Disability initiatives.
  • Build and maintain a high-performing team through ongoing coaching, engagement, and development of team members (direct and indirect)
  • Provide direction and oversight on the transformation and continuous improvement of our Disability operations to mitigate risk, drive cost efficiencies, improve the customer experience and deliver improved health outcomes for our customers
  • Organized, self-directed, efficient, and able to manage sophisticated projects in an agile framework.

What we are looking for
  • 10+ years of experience working in large, complex, operational environments.
  • Knowledge of Insurance, Group Benefits and Disability is an asset.
  • Relevant university education and healthcare background are considered an asset.
  • Highly developed collaboration, communication and influencing skills.
  • Experience leading large-scale, complex and fast-paced initiatives during periods of significant change.
  • Well-versed in crafting a strategic vision.
  • Demonstrates effective use of data as a means of advising strategic direction and effective actions to meet those objectives.
  • Strong business insight with experience in leading risk, training, and/or internal consultants
  • Ability to work optimally within a geographically dispersed team and leverage knowledge across the organization.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is a strong asset. If the successful candidate is located in Québec, proficiency in both languages will be required to support clients from various jurisdictions outside of Quebec.

Salary range is expected to be between

$123,400.00 CAD - $229,300.00 CAD
