The Opportunity
Manulife is looking for a Data and Reporting Analyst to support Operations teams by providing valuable insights through data visualization and analysis tools. You will bring to bear your technical expertise to drive business decisions and improve operational efficiency in a collaborative and inclusive environment. You will improve processes and performance while enabling our partners to uncover detailed information and high-level trends.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain key business intelligence solutions, including dashboards and interactive reporting tools, using Power BI or other BI tools.
Collaborate directly with business partners to translate their data needs into technical requirements, design, and implementation through compelling data visualizations.
Apply standard methodologies in UI/UX to build visualizations that present a single, aligned version of truth, clearly convey business results, and prompt actionable insights.
Lead initiatives to integrate new data sources and feeds into various databases as the business grows.
Manage data processes, including upstream/downstream data management and linkages.
Manage user access, report connections, and resolve issues by navigating management consoles or workspaces.

Reporting to the Business Intelligence Manager, Global Retail Operations, the Data and Reporting analyst plays a key part in supporting the success of Global Retail Operations, under the Global Wealth Asset Management (GWAM) Group.

What We Are Looking For
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field with a focus on Business Intelligence. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
We prefer candidates with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in BI solution development, specifically with Power BI, and app development using Microsoft O365 Suite (Power Platform - Power Automate, Power App).
At least 2+ years of hands-on experience with ETL methodologies, Power BI dataflow, datasets, deployment pipelines, and workspace management.
Experienced in relational databases (MS SQL, Oracle) with a demonstrable understanding of data modelling and data model normalization.
Experience in project management, specifically Agile methodology.
Experience working with Azure Cloud Infrastructure (Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, MS SQL Server).
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and experience with machine learning libraries/frameworks.
Understanding of design and development tools, SDLC methodologies, and techniques.
Knowledge of investments and securities operations systems is an asset.

Primary Location

Salary range is expected to be between
$53,775.00 CAD - $89,625.00 CADIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact recruitment@manulife.com for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
