Director, Global Event Producer

This role combines expertise in technical event production and event management. You’ll be deep in the work of creating high-impact and high-profile events with the unique opportunity to work across business areas that will raise Manulife’s brand identity, increase engagement and drive business impact while ensuring company business goals are met.

You will bring a wealth of expertise in event production and event execution and look for creative opportunities to bring ideas to life to engage and connect with a global audience. You will have strong familiarity and comfort with technology, be current on the latest trends in the live events industry, stay curious about emerging technologies in multimedia, technical staging, live talent and other aspects of event production.

With a proven ability to deliver the highest standard of work, you will orchestrate ideas, resources and people to bring critical production planning and operational plans to life to help us delivery an amazing portfolio of global events.

What type of work will you do?

  • Identify opportunities to create and deliver impactful global colleague events by understanding and translating business objectives and priorities into moments for experiences
  • Lead event production planning, on-site operations, show calling, and live event operations for global events to ensure execution excellence
  • Collaborate with Brand colleagues to ensure appropriate branding is represented at all events and incorporated into all experiences
  • Coordinate and lead project team meetings to ensure scheduling, operational and production timelines and deliverables are met through event project lifecycles
  • Source and manage partnerships with external vendors and ensure that services are delivered in line with the statement of work and budget
  • Manage and reconcile program budgets

What is expected you?

  • University education, plus a minimum of ten years of relevant experience in event

production with an incredibly strong portfolio of delivered work in live events

  • Advanced expertise in an event environment (show calling, stage management and event operations), producing exceptional experiences for hybrid, virtual and in-person corporate audiences. You’re a well-accomplished broadcast and event professional, with an inspiring track record of using a wide range of media, platforms and venues, regularly working in close collaboration with production, technical and multimedia teams
  • You can hit the ground running, thrive in a high paced environment (office & onsite), love to multi-task and need minimal guidance
  • Experience managing global corporate events (either from a corporate or agency perspective)
  • You love process! You are organized, self-motivated, and have the ability to think creatively and quickly and are able to approach unique problems in new ways
  • High degree of emotional intelligence, be able to adapt quickly to change and a capacity to stay calm under pressure in fast-paced environment
  • Push boundaries and challenge expectations with unique creative solutions
  • Strong program management, organizational and communication skills
  • Demonstrated production competencies: outcome oriented, customer focus, accountability for results, team effectiveness, attention to detail, flexibility, and professional confidence
  • Deadline driven with strong sense of accuracy and detail
  • Demonstrated capability to write detailed event creative proposals independently
  • Demonstrated understanding of event production, from design to implementation (including show calling and floor managing)
  • Observant: ability to independently pick up cues and connect the dots to anticipate or trouble shoot
  • Comfortable working with C-level executives, and managing unforeseen circumstances and stressful situations, such as challenges/disruptions with technology during events
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to forecast outcomes in a changing environment, and respond accordingly
  • Exhibit initiative as a self-starter - highly motivated, striving for continual improvement in both personal skills and production quality
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build effective partnerships and interact with stakeholders at all levels

Salary range is expected to be between

$103,050.00 CAD - $185,490.00 CAD
