Manulife is embarking on a multi-year journey to build a Global Performance Marketing Shared Service CoE (Center of Excellence) which will fuel our bold ambition to become a digital customer leader. The function brings together Marketing Technology (Martech) and Demand Generation (Demand Gen) - a comprehensive, full-funnel approach designed to drive tailored customer journeys powered by connected data, that when integrated raises brand awareness, drives quality traffic, generates leads, secures sales, and fosters brand loyalty.

We are looking for an innovative and curious marketing leader to join our dynamic and growing global team and help us in our digital transformation and data democratization journey.

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director, Global SEO Lead to drive the global search engine optimization (SEO) strategy for our organization. This role will lead the development, implementation, and optimization of SEO initiatives to maximize search engine visibility, drive organic traffic growth, and support overall business objectives across global markets.

We are looking for someone with:

  • 7+ years of experience in SEO, with a proven track record of leading global or enterprise-level SEO programs.

  • Strong knowledge of technical SEO, including schema markup, mobile optimization, and structured data.

  • Expertise in using SEO tools like Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, SEMRush, and BrightEdge.

  • Experience with enterprise platforms like Adobe Experience Manager or Sitecore.

  • Ability to analyze complex data sets and derive actionable insights to improve SEO performance.

  • Experience working with content management systems (CMS) and implementing content optimization strategies.

  • Strong organizational skills with experience managing large-scale projects across multiple stakeholders.

  • Proven leadership and team management experience.

  • Familiarity with paid search strategies to complement SEO efforts.

  • Growth mindset and ability to thrive in ambiguity.

On the job you will:

  • SEO Strategy Development: Design and execute a comprehensive global SEO strategy to improve organic search rankings, increase web traffic, and enhance user engagement across multiple regions and languages.

  • Technical SEO Leadership: Oversee technical SEO audits, site architecture improvements, and core web vitals optimization. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure best practices in website performance, crawlability, and indexing.

  • Content Optimization: Lead the creation and optimization of high-quality content aligned with SEO best practices, targeting relevant keywords and user intent. Develop guidelines for content creators to enhance organic reach.

  • Data-Driven Insights: Use advanced SEO analytics tools (e.g., Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs) to track performance, analyze trends, and provide actionable insights. Implement A/B testing and conversion optimization strategies.

  • Collaboration: Partner with marketing, product, and international teams to integrate SEO initiatives with broader marketing and product development strategies.

  • Competitor Analysis: Monitor industry trends and competitor strategies to stay ahead of evolving search engine algorithms and market shifts.

  • Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing global SEO team, fostering innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Salary range is expected to be between

$105,750.00 CAD - $190,350.00 CAD
