Manager, IT Asset Management

Reporting to our Director, IT Asset Management. Our Manager of IT Asset Management will be an integral part of Manulife’s Global Service Aware Mapping Team to ensure that all hardware, software, and cloud assets are accurately identified, discovered, owned, financially supported, populated in the CMDB, meet security standards, and are managed at each stage of the asset lifecycle.

How will you contribute:

We are looking for a candidate with a combination of direct hands-on industry and ITAM leadership experience. A solid background that combines technical and business aspects of hardware, software, cloud, and technical currency, and FinOps.

You are passionate, persistent, and detail oriented with an ability to clearly articulate an objective view of the IT asset inventory, associated risks, and opportunities to enable business decision making. This role is key to Manulife’s digital transformation, including evolving, maturing, and automating processes that manage our IT assets.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: Implement ITAM strategies, policies, procedures, standards, and governance to manage all global hardware and software assets.

Lifecycle Management: Lead all aspects of the process to manage the end-to-end lifecycle of IT assets from procurement to disposal.

Compliance, Governance, and Audit: Establish and maintain accurate and complete hardware and software inventories, classify & categorize assets, govern software licensing, contracts, and entitlements to establish a compliance position, and adhere to regulatory requirements and audit controls.

Financial Oversight: Optimize IT asset value by managing associated ITAM costs, cloud management, cost savings, and the ITAM tools.

Risk Management: Manage and mitigate risks related to IT software, hardware, and cloud assets, including cyber security, access, and financial risks. Collaboration: Lead the ITAM team and collaborate with global segments and external partners to align practices with business needs, expectations, policies, and standards.

Technology Management: Oversee ITAM tools and recommend new technologies for improved efficiency.

Reporting: Provide data intelligence on the real time state of IT asset inventories, lifecycle status and compliance through Data and Metrics.

Global Asset Inventory Management: Organize and be responsible for the Asset Management Database to confirm asset ownership, asset usage, asset location, asset cost data, asset status.

Requirements:

• 6+ years experience managing IT assets in a complex, regulated, enterprise environment.

• Direct reseller, vendor and distributor knowledge including Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, Adobe, Red Hat and others.

• Experience using and leading teams to operate ServiceNow Asset Management, Flexera, USU, ILMT, CMDB and other industry ITAM tools preferred.

• Confident presentation and facilitation skills to engage with senior management and collaborators at all levels.

• Ability to create and effectively communicate a strategy for a variety of partners and audiences.

Salary range is expected to be between

$92,190.00 CAD - $171,210.00 CAD
