Quality Assurance Specialist

The QA Specialist will be responsible for supporting Manulife Canadian web domains. The successful applicant will work in collaboration with web publishing team, engineering and business stakeholders to ensure digital content is complete and accurate, consistent with visual brand standards, meets accessibility requirements (WCAG 2.1 AA).

The opportunity:

  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools and processes
  • Design clear, detailed and comprehensive test plans and cases, that ensure quality and coverage on both mobile and desktop webpages through end-to-end testing
  • Ensure that Manulife brand standards and industry regulations are observed
  • Perform manual functional and regression testing
  • Perform routine inspections and quality tests on Manulife Canada web domains
  • Analyze defects and ensure that tests are successfully completed, documented and all issues are resolved
  • Document quality assurance activities and create audit reports
  • Make recommendations for improvement
  • Keep up to date on the latest test software and frameworks

Job requirements

  • University or college degree in Computer Science or technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • 2-5 years of proven experience in quality assurance
  • Confirmed knowledge of different testing techniques (e.g., UI testing, automated testing)
  • Proficiency in best practices for testing, version control, and defect management
  • Hands on experience with HTML, JavaScript, CSS, in a CMS environment - Adobe Experience Manager is a plus
  • Experience with technologies such as, Adobe Target, Site Improve, Adobe Analytics, NDVA, Voice Over
  • Previous experience working in Agile practices and using tool such as JIRA and Confluence
  • Working knowledge of web accessibility legislation and best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with a sense of urgency
  • Continuously learn from both success and failure
  • Good organizational and problem-solving abilities that enable you to lead through creative abrasion
  • Good verbal and written communication; optimally articulate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes
  • Experiments with new technologies and understanding how they will affect what comes next
  • Preferred: experience working on banking, insurance and/or e-commerce websites or similar

Salary range is expected to be between

$52,650.00 CAD - $87,750.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
