Senior Cloud Platform Engineer

Key Accountabilities:

• Provides reliable and scalable cloud platform (especially Containers/Kubernetes) expertise to engineers

• Develops and tests automation code to specifications and standards (Manulife, SDLC, Agile, etc)

• Builds and codes moderately complex software

• Investigates new platform solutions to enhance service delivery experience

• Resolves persistent platform issues when surfaced by technical support teams

• Responsible for monitoring, analyzing and optimizing software architecture and maintaining software environment to best support testing and deployment in continuous integration/continuous delivery environment

Job Requirements:

• Technical expertise in public cloud (preferably Azure) infrastructure and platform technologies especially Containers/Kubernetes required

* Technical expertise in provisioning and configuration automation tools

*Familiarity with Agile and DevOps principles, test-driven development, continuous integration, and other approaches to accelerate the delivery of new features

• Understanding of software development lifecycle and how technology can address and support business strategy

• BS or equivalent required.

• Collaborative attitude, willingness to work with team members; able to coach, participate in code reviews, share skills and methods

• Good verbal and written communication; able to effectively articulate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes

• Experiments with emerging technologies and understanding how they will impact what comes next.

• Straightforward tasks likely to be completed to an acceptable standard

• Able to achieve some steps using own judgement; supervision needed

• Drives less than 30% of the time in paired programming

• Possesses analytical skills and appreciates complex situations but only able to achieve partial resolution

Salary range is expected to be between

$92,190.00 CAD - $171,210.00 CAD
