The Opportunity

Group Functions Data Office is seeking a Sr Project Manager with a proven track record of successfully delivering Data initiatives. The PM will lead onshore/offshore squad(s) on various data initiatives, working with cross functional teams, delivering business value.


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for driving technical projects in the Enterprise Data Lake for Group Functions Data Office
  • Leads and coordinates technical projects through all phases of initiation, development, and implementation
  • Works with clients to define and manage the scope, strategy, requirements, and implementation of projects
  • Ensures that assigned projects are completed within budgets and schedules while meeting client business objectives
  • Identifies, analyzes, mitigates, documents, and controls project risks
  • Provides effective and regular communication within the project team, partners, sponsors, and management
  • Identifies resource needs for the project and establishes roles, expectations, and goals with team members
  • Drives the assessment, management, and mitigation of project risks that impede successful project delivery
  • Reports on and manages project resource tracking and budgets for project area
  • Understands nature of impact and builds lessons learned for future delivery
  • Strong contributor able to enable others within immediate team

What we are looking for

  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in Project Management
  • Has expertise in leading iterative and agile initiatives; PMP or CSM designation would be an asset
  • Experience leading Big Data initiatives with exposure to Cloud technology
  • Ability to interact with both technical and non-technical teams
  • Has experience in collaborating and partnering with Architects, Developers, QA, Data Scientists, vendor SMEs across a global, distributed environment
  • Solid track record of leading and delivering large scale IT projects involving cross functional IT teams and business partners
  • Solid track record of effective monitoring and reporting project updates, risks and critical issues
  • Strong verbal and written communication; able to optimally articulate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes to technical and non-technical audience
  • Demonstrates skill, and strong interpersonal skills for the role across the project
  • Use knowledge of the field and the market to suggest alternate approach options to leadership based on current project obstacles and objectives
  • High standard of work within the project applying both skills and experience
  • Constantly learns from both success and failure
  • Good organizational and problem-solving abilities that enable you to manage through creative abrasion
  • Knowledge of corporate function processes and capabilities
  • Strong problem-solving skills, copes with sophisticated situations using both skills and experience to lead to the right outcome
  • Experience working with onshore and offshore teams and vendors

Salary range is expected to be between

$92,190.00 CAD - $171,210.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
