Special Projects Assistant Project Manager

 

 

The Special Projects - Assistant Project Manager is Maple Reinders’ designated representative to the Owner/Client. The morals, ethics, and standards of the company and its employees are to be reflected. The Special Projects Assistant Project Manager is responsible for assisting the Project Manager / Division Manager in procuring, estimating, and running projects between $500,000 to $5 million.

 

This person is ultimately responsible for:

  • Assisting in securing project leads.
  • Providing support for project estimates and proposals.
  • Collaborating with the owner and consultants to design projects that meet the needs of the client.
  • Ensuring that a targeted margin and profit is made on every project.
  • Ensuring that the work is performed as per the contract documents.
  • Managing all project documents and financial tracking.
  • Completing the project with outstanding quality.
  • Ensuring the project is a safe workplace.

 

Qualifications/ Skills:

  • University degree in Engineering, or Engineering Technology Diploma (Civil or Mechanical), or a combination of education and industry experience preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience as a Project Coordinator, Estimator, or Assistant Project Manager in the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of ICI construction, with a focus on fit-ups and renovations.
  • Proficient MS Office and Windows-based computer applications skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, etc.).
  • The ability to use/learn industry-specific software programs such as Maple’s Internal Project Management Software, estimating software, and MS Project.
  • Previous estimating experience is an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license.
