Duties of Position:
The PCP provides immediate treatment and transportation of sick and injured individuals to appropriate medical facilities. Due to the nature of operating in the public eye, a high level of professionalism, communication, and knowledge is always expected. The paramedic is required to conduct themselves in a safe and discreet manner, with the responsibility of conduct justification to patients, family members, hospitals staff, management, public agencies, legal court, and more. As an employee of MHS, you are accountable to our patients, coworkers, and management by supporting all safety-related initiatives, as well as fostering a culture that focuses on patient safety and a safe workplace.
Required Qualifications and Other Job Requirements:
- Completion of a Primary Care Paramedic program of over six months;
- Must meet all legislated requirements for Primary Care Paramedics in the province you are applying for;
- Must be registered or eligible for registration, as a Primary Care Paramedic with the Paramedic Association or College of Paramedics in the province you are applying for;
- Must have a valid class 4 (or equivalent) Driver's Licence in the province you are applying for;
- Submit a valid and clean criminal record check, with vulnerable sector check;
- Proof of successful paramedic physical abilities testing that has been completed within the last 12 months;
- Must demonstrate the ability to work efficiently as a member of the team and possess strong interpersonal skills;
- Must be able to work all shifts as assigned, maintaining a good attendance record;
- Must have a high regard for confidentiality;
- Must have excellent work habits and exhibit professionalism.
